About the Artist

Since childhood, I have been fascinated by images that could evoke an emotional response or convey the mood of a landscape or a portrait.  As an adult, I enjoyed finding and purchasing art images that reflected the spirit of a place visited or my emotional response to it.  Sometimes I was frustrated at not finding an image that conveyed my perception of a place or experience.  This frustration eventually led to photography classes and my desire to create my own images.  The picture on this page is one of my first successes in using black and white film and doing my own darkroom processing.  I still enjoy the magic of processing and printing images in the darkroom but today many of my images are captured and processed digitally.

Over the past few years my wife, Bernice, and I have traveled throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as Italy, Ireland, and Scotland.  This has given me a unique opportunity to diversify my work and continue to evolve as a fine art photographer.  I hope you enjoy my images!
